MSX2 Games Collection
The MSX2, launched in 1985, was the second generation of the MSX computer standard that significantly improved upon its predecessor. It featured enhanced graphics with a Yamaha V9938 chip supporting 256x212 resolution with 19,268 colors, improved sound capabilities, and increased RAM (often 64KB or more). The system maintained backward compatibility with MSX1 software while introducing new graphical modes that enabled more sophisticated games like Metal Gear and Vampire Killer. Though not as commercially successful as some competitors, the MSX2 became particularly popular in Japan, the Netherlands, and Brazil, serving as an important platform for both gaming and home computing. Its open architecture fostered a vibrant developer community that created many unique titles and productivity applications.
