About This Game
As the first WWF game to utilize the SNES' Mode 7 scaling effects, Raw delivered pseudo-3D entrances and dynamic camera angles during matches. The game's roster included both fan favorites and villains from the 1993-94 WWF roster.
Raw introduced several innovations including interactive crowd signs, wrestler-specific taunts, and the ability to throw opponents out of the ring. The ladder match mode became particularly influential, predating the famous WrestleMania X bout between Shawn Michaels and Razor Ramon.
Though criticized for its stiff controls, Raw was praised for its authentic presentation including Vince McMahon's commentary and accurate wrestler themes. It sold over 1.2 million copies and inspired the creation of WWF War Zone's engine.
