About This Game
Released alongside Pokémon Gold as part of Generation II, Silver Version features the legendary Ho-Oh on its cover. The game introduced shiny Pokémon, a real-time clock, and the Dark/Steel types that redefined competitive battling.
Players start in New Bark Town, receiving a starter from Professor Elm (Chikorita, Cyndaquil, or Totodile) before challenging the Johto Gym Leaders and eventually the Kanto region from the first games.
The game's compatibility with Pokémon Stadium 2 on N64 and connectivity with Pokémon Crystal made it a landmark in multiplayer RPG experiences. Sold over 23 million copies worldwide.
