About This Game
Pokemon Crystal introduced several series-first features including animated Pokemon sprites, the option to choose a female protagonist (Kris), and enhanced connectivity features.
The game's day-night cycle affects which Pokemon appear, and certain events only happen on specific days of the week. The Unown alphabet puzzle was expanded with new forms to collect.
Crystal version marked the debut of the Battle Tower facility, which would become a staple in future Pokemon games. The Celebi event was the first time this mythical Pokemon was officially distributed.
